Once upon a time, in a small village nestled in the rolling hills of the countryside, there lived a young shepherd boy named Jack. Jack lived a simple life, tending to his flock of sheep and helping his parents with their farm chores.

One day, as Jack was tending to his flock, he noticed a wolf lurking in the shadows. The wolf had a reputation for preying on sheep, and Jack knew he had to act fast to protect his beloved flock.

Thinking quickly, Jack ran back to the village and shouted, "Wolf! Wolf! The wolf is attacking the sheep!" The villagers came running, ready to defend their livestock, but when they arrived at the field, they found nothing.

Feeling embarrassed and foolish, the villagers returned to their homes, grumbling about the shepherd boy's antics.

The next day, the same thing happened. Jack saw the wolf lurking in the shadows and ran back to the village, shouting, "Wolf! Wolf! The wolf is attacking the sheep!" Once again, the villagers came running, but when they arrived at the field, they found nothing.

Feeling even more frustrated and annoyed, the villagers returned to their homes, determined to ignore Jack's cries in the future.

However, on the third day, the wolf actually did attack the sheep. Jack saw it happening and ran back to the village as fast as he could, shouting, "Wolf! Wolf! The wolf is attacking the sheep!" But this time, no one came to his aid.

The wolf had a feast, and the shepherd boy was left to mourn the loss of his beloved sheep.
